Activities
Les Mills Body Combat Instructor, January 2019 - Present I am currently enjoying physical fitness and leadership by working and training as a Body Combat instructor at my local Bay Area YMCA branches. I love interacting with those in my classes, as well as challenging myself to make fitness gains and keep up on the latest self-defense mechanisms. Latinoforce Dreamforce Social Ambassador, Fall 2017 For Salesforce's biggest conference of the year, Dreamforce, I was able to be an ally for one of our Ohana Groups. Latinoforce is a group of Latinx individuals that work towards better the Latinx community that surrounds Salesforce. I was able to help out with the "Latinoforce Feria", where I greeted and mingled with C-level executives from all across the country. Aquarium of the Bay Animal Care Volunteer, Fall 2017-Present In my spare time, I love to volunteer in the community...and also work with animals! Upon moving to San Francisco, I was able to start volunteering with the Aquarium of the Bay as an animal care volunteer. Weekly, I go to the aquarium to help feed, transport, and enrich the fish and other animals, as well an interact with school groups and tourists. Salesforce Futureforce Recruiting Volunteer, Fall 2017-Present As a proud, recent graduate, I was eager to share my Salesforce experience with other students. I was pleased to be welcomed on to the Futureforce Recruiting squad, where I was able to travel to my alma mater to share my experience as an intern and new grad at Salesforce. Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law Fraternity, Winter 2016-Spring 2017 In the midst of my self-proclaimed "Mid-College Crisis", I rushed and was given a big to Kappa Alpha Pi, a co-ed, pre-law fraternity that aims to help aspiring law students reach their full potential. During my time in KAPi, I was able to serve as the Pledge Service Chair and the Member Engagement Squad. Pulitzer Center Crisis Reporting Fellowship, Spring 2016-Fall 2016 With great honor, I was able to participate in the 2016 Pulitzer Center Fellowship Program, which allowed me to travel to Brazil and work in prisons, producing several stories and a video on the power of art as a rehabilitation tool in prisons in Michigan, and around the world. I was awarded a grant to travel, interview, and publish several pieces of work as an amateur crisis reporter. Michigan Men's Rowing Team, Fall 2014-Summer 2015 I was one of the coxswains for the Men's Rowing team. Being a part of this team has allowed me to grow my skills in leadership, self-motivation, time management, and critical decision-making. A coxswain sits in the front of the boat, steering the boat and encouraging rowers. During my time on the team, I've learned the true importance of teamwork, and how essential it is that everyone puts forth 100%. Community Outreach Fellowship, Fall 2014 After applying and interviewing, I was chosen for a fellowship through the Edward Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning. This fellowship has allowed me to explore my interests and passions in social justice and volunteerism. I am able to work with four other ladies on projects within the University to enable community engagement. My project is to start a program during the Fall Break period where students can travel to participate in volunteer work to better specific service areas and serve community members. WOTV Channel 4 Studio Visit, August 2014 I was able to spend the entire day with Maranda, the host of the show "Where You Live." Working with the cast and crew was a fantastic experience. Besides spending time with Maranda, I was able to help conduct an interview, film a promotion, publish posts on several social media platforms, and help plan and produce one of her afternoon segments. During my day with Maranda, I got a small taste of broadcasting, production, editing, and all of the planning that goes into making TV magic! |
