Hi there! My name is Kate Toporski, and I am a graduate from the University of Michigan. I majored in Communication Studies and double-minoring in Writing and Community Action and Social Change; I graduated in April 2017, with a Bachelor's in Art.
I was born and raised in Kent City, Michigan, which is a small, farm town north of Grand Rapids. I graduated from Kent City High School in 2013, where I was involved in band (drum major and french hornist), soccer, volleyball, dance, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and served as class president. I really enjoy reading, writing, and breakfast foods! I also love to travel. My parents are school teachers at local school districts, and I have two awesome younger sisters, who are currently continuing their educations at the University of Michigan as well. I began my career journey as an intern at the Salesforce Marketing Cloud, where I was able to explore the tech industry and the responsibilities of a technical writer. In addition to exploring a new field, I was able to grow my passion for communications by learning more about STEM fields, technical communications, and working with engineers and project managers. Upon graduating, I moved to San Francisco to work as an Associate Technical Writer at the Salesforce Head Quarters. I wrote, edited, and published technical documentation, including educational Trailhead materials to help our customers best utilize the Salesforce software. While learning a lot of project management and technical writing, I found my true passion in events. I attended San Francisco State University to obtain my certificate in Special Events Planning and Management. I now work at Salesforce as an Educational and Onboarding Program Coordinator for the Analytics Cloud. I plan, manage, and execute global events, where customers can learn how everyday analytics can transform their business. Outside of work, my passions include working as a kickboxing instructor, traveling, and- of course- spoiling my five-year-old dog, Babe. |
